The Furkids Have All Found Their New "Spots"

The pets were all a little scared at first when we moved into our new home almost two months ago.  You see they all tend to be a little territorial and they each had a place where they seemed to feel safe and thought belonged to them at the old place.  It took them a few weeks, but now seem to love their new home and have each found some places they like just as much as in our old house.  They are not allowed out on the third floor balconys because it's way too far to the ground and there is plenty of space for them on the first and second floor balconys. 

Unfortunately, moving can be quite traumatic for pets.

As you can see from the above photo, Jasmine saw that our dining room table doesn't get enough use and decided to change that.  Peanut made the same decision about our biggest "decoration" :

Fleur is a bit of a couch potato:
Princess can be found outdoors 99% of the time.  She grew up outside.  We took her in when she was a very pregnant 8-9 month old:

Our Cats New Quarter's - Still a Work in Progress

Our cats still have the run of the house, but we wanted them to have their own room.  There is a cat door leading to the patio/pool.  More photos to come.  I am STILL working on everything...and I'm starting to think I ALWAYS will be ;)

This is NOT our Florida!

It is SO cold in Florda where we live that mom and dad won't even let us outside to play :/  We wait very patiently each morning by the sliding doors to the patio, but they haven't been open at all for two whole days!  They say that the temperature hasn't gotten out of the forties even in the middle of the day :(  Dad tries to keep us busy playing laser tag, but we sometimes get our own ideas.  Look at Fleur invading one of the Christmas villages like an abominable snow cat!

Great News On Chanel and Petfinder :)

Chanel is back up to 8 pounds and 1 ounce!  She was down to about 7 pounds 3 ounces about 6 weeks ago.  She had always weighed about 8 pounds and 12 ounces prior to her weight loss.  She is sitting on the chaise lounge above,  Fleur is on the big chair hammock and princess is watching the birds.

I'm elated that adoptions are way up at the shelter where I take photos and post them on Petfinder!  The above photo is of Noha.  This cat was approximately four years old and had been with them since he was a kitten.  I guess some of the main volunteers cried when he left.

When it comes to the color of a cat, solid black cats are the least likely to get adopted and the most likely to be euthanized at a kill shelter.  I would guesstimate that aproximately 75 % or more of the adult cats at the shelter I help at are all black.

I am going back to the shelter on Friday to update Petfinder and take some more photos.

Happy Mother's Day To ALL Mothers!!!

Here is one of my favorite mothers.  She is our cat Princess whom we found about two years ago and was very pregnant when she was less than a year old.  She had three kittens that we found homes for, but we still have Princess who is sweet as can be!  She was an awesome momma to her kittens.

Here is our new baby Sasha being very motherly to her first personal toy squirrel (sorry I know it's hard to see and I'm not sure how motherly she's being at 6 and a half weeks :)
